Outback Theatre for Young People

Outback Theatre for Young People (OTYP) engages with young people from regional and remote communities to make distinctive contemporary theatre through collaborative processes.

OTYP began operating in 1989 out of the back of a ute and became a full time program of South West Arts in 1992. In the decade and a half since then Outback Theatre has engaged, educated and entertained countless young people and their communities across South West NSW.

OTYP is assisted by the Australian Govenment through the Australia Council, its principal arts funding and advisory body, and by the NSW Government through Arts NSW.
